This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 A book about a kid who collects words。 Some collect stamps others collect bugs, but Jerome liked words! He loved the way the words rolled off his tongue and the way some of them sounded like they were meant to be those particular words。 He loved to read and kept scrapbooks of his words。 One day he slipped and fell and his words went flying everywhere。 All of his words got mixed up。 After putting them back together he realized that his words could be poems and songs。 Not only were they just words A book about a kid who collects words。 Some collect stamps others collect bugs, but Jerome liked words! Those words have meaning behind them when used the correct way。 Jerome shared his love of words with all the other children and it made him the happiest kid。I like the last page because there are blank papers where the child can fill in a new word。 Words can make a difference。 Just remember that! 。。。more

I have liked some of the Peter Reynolds books but this one didn't really do it for me。 Something about the idea of words as these mystical things that you just release out there and change people's lives is a bit of an oversimplification for me。 My 4。5 year old seemed fairly indifferent to the story。 I have liked some of the Peter Reynolds books but this one didn't really do it for me。 Something about the idea of words as these mystical things that you just release out there and change people's lives is a bit of an oversimplification for me。 My 4。5 year old seemed fairly indifferent to the story。 。。。more

I liked the idea。 And the choices of words。 But the book itself didn't work all that well。 I mean, it could have been a lot worse。 It was readable and the art was fine。 But the words seemed to be dumped and the end they were dumped。 I liked the idea。 And the choices of words。 But the book itself didn't work all that well。 I mean, it could have been a lot worse。 It was readable and the art was fine。 But the words seemed to be dumped and the end they were dumped。 。。。more

Jerome is a unique type of collector。 What makes Jerome different is that unlike other collectors, he collects words。 This story tells of how words can change the world around us when shared for a positive purpose。

I love the design of this book, the art, the representation, but there are some inconsistencies with the messages in a couple of parts。 I also didn’t like that he throws all his words into the valley。 Early childhood works hard to teach lessons on picking up trash, being a good citizen, so it just doesn’t quite fit with the other messages。 Maybe I’m picky!
